Women 2 Women

A Snapshot of W2W

As Christian women we can share with one another how knowing Christ changes the way we live, every moment of every day. His presence in our lives enriches our joys and gives meaning and purpose to our struggles and challenges. The transformation from a self-centered, secular Worldview to a Godly, Christian Worldview is nothing short of monumental- but our loving Savior does not expect us to make that change without help. We can remind our younger sisters in Christ to go to Him and allow Him to walk beside us, comfort and guide us. Many new Christian women may feel lost and confused as to how to do this. Having someone who has had similar life experiences can teach, encourage and disciple a younger woman.

A mentor is the link between the rush and thrill of the mountaintop experiences with God and the daily working-out of His plan for each of us. A one-on-one relationship gives us the opportunity to give and receive strength. Are you mentor material? Or do you need a mentor? Do you long for that dedicated person who is available anytime to answer your questions, help you see Jesus, and help you be Jesus to others?

Mentorship is the core of W2W

Lucibel Van Atta, in her book Women Encouraging Women says, “Mentoring isn’t just another activity to scrunch into our over-crowded calendars. It is a relationship, a commitment, and a step of faith. A faith defined as giving God the opportunity to fulfill His promise through our lives. And this is indeed what pleases God." According to Hebrews 11:6, “without faith it is impossible to please God.” A mentor is someone close and trusted and experienced.

Mentoring is being available and willing to share in another woman’s life. Some people have the ability and desire to be both a mentor to a newer Christian and a mentee to someone more seasoned in her walk. Someone may be available for either position, which means they are willing to go wherever the Lord leads. The goal of this ministry is to place every woman that desires it into a mentoring relationship.

How does the W2W ministry work?

First you let us know you're interested. You can do that by contacting me through the link below or by calling me at 443-206-2762. You could also ask your Life Group Leader, or one of the Pastors. They will point you to me, and I will invite you to our next Woman to Woman Orientation Coffee where you will learn about all of the details of the ministry and have a chance to get involved. We will ask you to fill out a Profile Card and an Opportunities to Serve Card. These short forms allow you to tell us where to start.

The day after the orientation coffee, a Prayer Day Team will pray over the profile cards. They ask the Holy Spirit to help them match you into a one-on-one relationship with another woman.

You will receive a phone call the during week after the coffee telling you the time, the following Sunday, to return to the Care Center. This is Kick-Off. You will meet your mentor or menteee, receive some initial training and encouragement, and begin your relationship.

*You must be able to attend Kick-Off Night in order to be matched into a mentoring relationship. It is a very important part of getting your mentoring relationship started well.

At the Kick-Off you will spend a little time getting to know each other and to sign your Mentoring Covenants, meet your dedicated prayer warrior and set up your first meeting. This will launch you and your new partner on a 6-month journey of growth and friendship that will impact you both for a lifetime!
