Music is a precious gift from God that allows us to honor, glorify and speak to our heavenly Father. Through His gift of music, we have the opportunity to worship Him both privately and publicly. We feel that each person has special gifts and talents and our music ministry is designed and committed to helping each member grow and enhance their talents all for God’s glory. With varying musical talents, we can find a place within our music ministry for everyone. Opportunities to serve in our music ministry include:
Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir leads Sunday morning worship as well as provides special music at every service. We also present 2-3 major musical productions each year. Open to adults and high school students. Rehearsals begin at 4:30 PM on Sundays in Choir Room.
Orchestra
The orchestra accompanies the Sanctuary Choir and Praise & Worship Team by playing the orchestrations for many of our hymns, choruses and choral anthems. In addition, we play offertories each month. Includes piano, organ, percussion, woodwinds, strings, guitar, and brass. Open to instrumentalists of all ages who have at least 2 years of band/orchestra experience. Rehearsals begin each Wednesday at 7:30 PM and Sunday mornings at 8:15 AM.
Praise & Worship Team
Selected members of the Sanctuary Choir lead worship. Members serve on a monthly rotation. Team rehearses with Instrumental Ensemble on Sunday mornings at 8:30 AM and with Sanctuary Choir Sundays at 5 PM.
Junior Choir
Exposes children to the truth of God’s Word and the hope we have in Jesus Christ through music. Our Junior Choir performs a major musical every Fall and Spring. Under the direction of Sharyla Thompson, Chastity Reynolds and Abby Kilburn, children in 1st – 6th grades learn scripture, music, rhythms and motions through drama and song. Rehearsals are held every Monday from 3 PM – 5 PM. Transportation to rehearsals from EEE and EEI schools as well as snacks are provided.
Preschool Choir
Designed for little voices age 2-5. Our preschool choir sings on Sunday night services once a month as well as perform a Christmas program each year. Under the direction of Lacey Roberts, Cindy Whittaker, and Abby Kilburn the choir is split into two groups. Children ages 4-5 practice on Sundays at 5:15 pm while ages 2-3 practice Sundays at 5:45 pm.
